Do people leave comments here by mistake?

I wrongly assumed that this would take me to the comments for the main article.

Not that I’ve seen. The article doesn’t usually show in full on the same page as the comic so most wouldn’t be commenting on the article until they’ve read it (i.e., are in the article itself).

The comic commenting was added to let people have a place to comment on the comic and not feel like they had to have some amazing insight to add to the article discussions - not that we ever said that was necessary but that’s the feedback we get.

It’s interesting that this is the first time I have noticed it.

It feels like a more ‘private’ comment space, if that makes any sense.

Fewer people comment here. I like it better than the main article section, because I feel I identify better with the artwork than the writing (an art in itself nonetheless).

Given that there are far fewer comments for the cartoon than the article, does that mean that it’s “lights out” for the cartoon comments ;)
